archos hacking
Although it has been a while since I did not write stuff on Archos, it seems the 605 piracy efforts are continuing and there have been new developments. With the TFG closed the original hack, users with the new firmware is locked out. But then a GFT2 hack was performed followed by the cheese "musty" hack that can load a version of avos with all plugins unlocked. And now there is a hack GFT3 courtesy aside. All hacks are listed on the wiki page and the new thread is here GFT3.
Unfortunately, it seems that the ability to load the modified avos with all plugins unlocked, is currently limited to the hard drive based models (I tried this on my machine and caused a hard reset). There is some justification to bypass the plugins so can not stand for Archos GEN 5 devices. That said, the plugins do not really care. If they had really, I just bought back in the day. I just wanted to see if it was possible.
