    Archos 101 G9

    Roll up, fans of storage - we went on the hands with the Archos 101 G9, a 10.1 inch, Android 3.1 tablet honeycomb which will be available with a 250GB hard drive for £ 400, or 16GB flash storage for about 280 pounds. Both will be available in late September.

    You get what you pay for

    When we manhandled the 101, it did not feel as strong or slippery as the iPad 2. But this tablet is considerably cheaper.

    It is also worth remembering that we have not seen the final model.While we would be surprised if the end result is radically different from the preview units we played with, we will hold fire on judgments about the quality of construction, however.

    The tablet feels very light and thin, weighing 649g and measuring 12.6mm thick. We were mucking around with the 16 GB of flash storage, however. The version with 250GB hard drive weighs 755g and measures 15.6mm thick.
