Apple to pay $84 million after losing the law suit
Apple - Playlist uses technology that was patented. When the playlist is downloaded via the Internet, it requires a different technology. According to a federal jury in the state of Texas, the owner of the patent for the download function for each playlist music player is the Personal Audio, a company based in Texas Tech.
One feature of the Apple iPod, of all generations, is the downloadable playlists.The Texas jury said the iPods use technology owned by Personal Audio and Apple had violated the rights of the true owner. By way of compensation for damages, the jury in Texas decided that Apple must pay $ 8 million for the damage.
There are other manufacturers of music players that use the same technology, such as Corby, Sirius and Archos. However, it is not surprising that Apple is set in the light. It is not yet clear whether other companies are paying for the damage Personal Audio.
