    Apple Continues to Dominate Market of Slates, But Android Gains Popularity

    Apple iPad was an indisputable blockbuster of the IT market in 2010 and continues to be in 2011. However, Google Android is slowly but surely capturing market share from Apple. Today is the Android operating system for the most popular smartphones with touch screens and the popularity of the platform is growing in the market for slates.

    According to Strategy Analytics, about 4.6 based on Google Android tablets were shipped in Q2 2011, up 100 miles back to Q2 2010. During the same time Apple has sold 9.3000000 iPad series slate, almost three times higher than 3.3 million in Q2 2010. It should be noted that there are loads of Android-based tablets, there are quite expensive and Motorola Xoom Galaxy Tab and loads of equipment cheap from companies like Archos. Meanwhile, Apple has one model: the IPAD.
