What is the difference between having AUX input and having an Ipod ready cd deck?

I am looking at buying a new cd deck for my 06 ranger. I am debating between a Insignia radio that is Ipod ready and has a HD tuner. Or I can get a name brand Pioneer with AUX input that will probably give me better sound right? So, what does Ipod

Answer ge t the PIONEER DECK you wont regret it, you could also plug anything you want to play in like even portable dvd players, iPod inputs only work with an ipod and tend to be slow and make you impatient if you control the ipod with the radio, plus insignia
