Don’t listen to the sales person, he is there to move the tv is promoting. It is a cheap brand and made of cheap parts. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end, while Sony, Samsung and Toshiba does not (December issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio did not even get mentioned. Look at the picture of the tv from an angle and you will notice that the picture of the tv fades. If you read yahoo questions you will notice that most problems on tv are from the cheap brands, like the one the sale person at Best Buy is bragging about. Hope this will help you out.

The sales person is being honest, but in a misleading way!
It’s true that several brands of LCD TVs use parts from common third parties. For instance, Sharp manufactures LCD screens that are used by many other brands like Sony, Insignia and a few other brands! There are also other components in LCD TVs that are shared by many brands like Power Supply boards, Display boards and so on.
