About the construction. The speakers/dock/radio/player is heavy, constructed well, feels substantial. They probably named it 'The Brick' because it's like a brick in size, and probably weighs about the same too. There are just four buttons on the front panel, for power/standby, source, and volume up and one for volume down. This unit is meant to be controlled by the remote (so don't loose it). The remote works fine, no problems - but the remote is different from what is pictured on the box. Just a few differences. There is also 'The Brick' in somewhat large lettering on top of the unit (which also is not pictured) but doesn't bother but does seem a bit unnecessary. The FM radio works wonderfully well. I am so happy with this - I listen to the radio often and if the reception was dismal or subpar I would have returned it. An external antenna is included. The screen on the face of the unit displays the time and is ONLY lit up with that blue light for a little while.
