Just in case the proliferation of ever bigger-screened Android devices wasn’t clue enough, there’s now a survey that has concluded that people want bigger screens. Well, bigger than the iPhone’s, at least. According to Strategy Analytics , almost 90% of existing smartphone owners surveyed chose a prototype smartphone with a display larger than their current device.
The 4-to-4.5-inch range seems to constitute the sweet spot for people nowdays. There are some caveats though. First of all, with a screen that large, phones also have to be very thin. And there are slight differences in what women want compared to men. Women are more likely to consider smaller devices than men. Also, those who own Android smartphones are more likely to seek larger devices than those who own iPhones.
