It is safe to say, text messages will not go away if we need to find ways to use it safely.
A father Seattle thinks he has a way to make it safer in the car.
He developed a software that stops the need to respond to texts and phone calls when you are in a car.
This is called Otter, and corresponds to a response text Touch.
Erik Wood developed the idea, and after his three year old daughter was almost crushed by a car where the driver was texting while driving.
Otter silences chimes everything from ringtones and vibrate when the vehicle user exceeds ten miles per hour and sends an automatic reply incoming texts customizable.
Erik Wood said: "To really make a real pilot and make lasting safer driver, I think you must enter the SMS culture and provide a tool, give them a reason not to text and drive. Keep them connected to their social media network, but just say that this is not the time to do so because it is dangerous.
