Take your camera to the Nature Walks at El Dorado Park

The El Dorado Nature Center sits between the San Gabriel River and the 605 freeway, close to Long Beach and Los Alamitos. There’s no jogging, picnicking, bikes or picnics permitted.

But here, you’ll find a hundred acres in the Nature Center, two miles of dirt trails and a quarter mile of paved trail winding around two lakes and a stream. The short trail is wheelchair accessible. When you cross the bridge, you’re on an island, with a small gift shop and museum near the entrance.

The Nature Center offers Audubon bird walks, lessons in bird watching, plant sales and artists’ craft fairs, special gardening sessions featuring water conservation and Native Southern California plants, plus several school and youth programs.
