HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 7/28/11 - The promise terabyte disk is finally closer to reality. Sony is developing the disk 1000 GB necessary for the film, the last game, television and software giant space demand.
However, space for a 50 film (!) Is just a T-byte disk. You can keep all AFI Top 100 films in the history of a pair of Blu-ray disc, probably with a little room left for every Oscar-nominated film of the year and a couple of 3ds or Harry Potter as Rango in the mix.
This year is out of the way, probably five to seven years that the hardware and software is under a massive makeover. Hollywood today said it was coming - and new technologies require.
3D movies require gigabytes galore. HD entertainment, movies on TV series was ravenous for space. And do not we start on the next generation of computer games where your avatar living alone could take a virtual landscape of concerts just to look and move as you want.
I am very happy with this receiver and had no problems with set up. My system is fairly simple but it replaced a Pioneer receiver with no HDMI inputs, so it is nice to be up with the times. I went ahead and upgraded to a Sony BX37 Blue Ray player as well. I went from cord all over the place to 3 HDMI cords: (FIOS to TIVO), TIVO to receiver, Receiver to TV, Blue Ray player to receiver. I had a box of old optical, analog and component video connectors left! I especially like the fact that the TV still gets picture and sound even with the receiver in Standby, and that the receiver and blu ray player can be operated from the same remote. Many options for surround sound etc. so I am just scratching the surface.
